Dastaan -- an incomplete love story
Inspired by the iconic movie "Mugal-e-Azam",
Ali Xeeshan’s Luxe bridal collection will take the audience back in time to the
Mughal Empire of the legendary Anarkali. Palette, cuts, silhouettes, fabrics
and rich embellishments used in this collection all pay tribute to the golden
era of the Mughal Empire.

Fozia Hammad’s collection
testifies that Lahore is a city that creates loyalties. Laila-e-Lahore is primarily a tribute to the city that has shaped
her aesthetics. It is the mood of the millennium-old-metropolis that the
collection represents wherein Lahore itself comes across as one big motif. This
artistic endeavour by Fozia underlines a simple belief: New York is enormous,
London is convenient and Paris is beautiful…but…Lahore is Lahore.

bride, as they say, is a happy bride. It’s a confidence and glow that radiates
from within, with the knowledge that on the most awaited day of her life, she is
looking her graceful best and this is the cornerstone of Tena Durrani’s
approach to creating bespoke bridal outfits. Perenia Progressive
collection uses traditional crafts like kamdani and French knots and employs new techniques to
weave outfits in pastels and rich colours, that leave us with a truly
unique, yet eternal bridal collection.

collection set in 18th century France. The European cuts, embroideries and
palette all have a nostalgic and vintage feel.... yet the collection is current
in its silhouette and designed for the modern bride.
ZIGGI MENSWEAR

Ziggi
Menswear, the first ever UK brand to participate in the Bridal Couture Week,
will showcase their 2015 collection, Musafir, an amalgamation of
traditional embroidery methods such as beads, zardosi, dabka, kora, arri
work, pita work, velvet appliqués and the best of traditional English
tailoring. Inspired by our culture, heritage and architecture, Musafir is heavily
influenced by the euphoria of ancient mysticism. The palette used is maroon,
gold, sand and a hint of blue. The collection is completed using Ziggi
Menswear’s signature regal fabrics – brocades, Tanchoi silks, raw silks and velvet.
The collection gives the wearer a well-fitted and structured enhanced look, exuding
grace and confidence.

Ziggi
Menswear’s sister concern, Mehzabeen, will be showcasing Gulnari collection
which is all about grace and elegance. Gulanari embodies the essence of
a traditional bride, heritage and the old world’s charm in each individual
piece. All the pieces are predominately red with a hint of turquoise, purples,
pink and green. Embroidery is well-balanced throughout the capsule collection
which consists of farshi ghararas, lehngas, long trail gowns, A-line
dresses made from chiffons, organza, velvets, brocade and Indian jamavar silks
which fall with grace, and elegance.
FARAZ
MANAN
Each
season FARAZ MANAN brings the world to our feet with his creations and the
story behind each piece. Through his extensive travels, he takes inspiration
from architecture, interiors, culture and various peoples for his collections. From
Lyallpur to Istanbul to Shanghai, FARAZ MANAN has transported us everywhere and
now does a full circle, taking us back to our roots, to our culturally enriched
city, Lahore. This collection is a tribute to Lahore and what it entails -- culture,
tradition, festivities, heritage and hospitality.
Contemporary
yet eastern, this couture collection is particularly designed focusing on the
festive wedding season. In sync with the vibrant life of Lahore, there are
vivid colours in this collection. The palette contains coral, shades of red,
gold and black, featuring diversity in bespoke designs, and variations in
shirts, jackets, saris and bridals.

Showcasing at TBCW 2014, Umsha’s name will once again be on the forefront
of couture with its newest collection, Shehnai.
Umsha’s TBCW collection consists of shararas,
ghararas, farshi ghararas and menswear, including sherwanis and kurtas.
HINA BUTT
Theme of collection: Persian
Culture
Hina
Butt’s TBCW collection is inspired by Persian culture, especially Persian
carpets, which undoubtedly are a true reflection of Persian culture. In this
collection motifs, colour and patterns used in Persian carpets have been
modernized and combined with contemporary cuts and a chic look, making it
wearable for the modern-day bride.
SAIRA RIZWAN:
Collection Name: Shalimar
Paying homage to the Mughal
City of Gardens, Saira Rizwan’s Shalimar
collection uses a diverse range of fusion silhouettes and cuts, incorporating
both traditional and contemporary designs. The collection draws inspiration
from eras past, highlighting the galore of ancient times. The palette of the
entire collection comprises dark hues and pastels tones, with distinguished
gold to complement the entire range. Each ensemble is an amalgamation of
intricate and meticulously detailed work using gold tilla, heavy pearls and Swarovski embellishment. The collection
also incorporates screen-printing that is done in-house. The collection
comprises 16 bridal and formal designs for women and six menswear designs
incorporating kurtas and shalwar kameez.
FAHAD
HUSSAYN:
Collection Name: Nautanki Rani
Nautanki Rani is a short play to pay homage to the
performing arts. Traditional revivalist Fahad Hussayn Couture in association
with Mehreen Jillani and Learning Alliance School system is all set to showcase
his collection in a never-seen-before runway presentation. Nautanki
Rani has been written and conceived by Mehreen Jillani, the music is an
original composition by Hassan Mohiuddin and is narrated by the legendary
Naheed Siddiqui.
The story is a fairytale
derived from folklore set in pre-dated Multan and Derawar Fort. The key
elements of the collection include influences from Multani architecture, local
craft techniques and colonial influences. The collection comprises a wide array
of hand-crafted embroideries including vintage tilla, thread work, sucha gota
and other local hand-embroidery details, and also features signature Fahad Hussayn PRINT
MUSEUM couture prints in a vibrant blend with couture embroideries and
embellishments that are hand-stitched to perfection. The collection carries a
wide range of delicately crafted couture wedding wear for both men and
women.
AISHA IMRAN

Aisha
Imran’s Souvenir collection brings to
the ramp memorable statement pieces and the glory of the ancient bride. The
collection features traditional style of work, highlighted with ruby, emerald
and pearl ornamentation. The gold tone in her work is constant and her signature
style.
HAJRA HAYAT

Inspired
by the rich and opulent lifestyle of the Mughal Empire, Hajra Hayat’s TBCW
collection incorporates woven silks, sheer tissues and royal velvet fabrics. The
use of gold zardozi and crystal
embellishments enhance the beautiful cuts of “Empress”, while floor-length
gowns and farshi shararas are the
main highlight of her timeless collection. In her TBCW 2014 collection, the
shorter mid-lengths make a come-back with the ever popular churidaars.

Rubaaiyat-e-khayyam
Designer
Mini Bindra’s luxurious collection titled Rubaaiyat-e-Khayyam
is an ode to famous poet Omar Khayyam’s Rubaaiyat,
which is a collection of short poems on love. Hence, the couture line too is an
amalgamation of short sub-collections of beautiful fabrics fused with her modern
design sensibilities. She presents a contemporary take on traditional
silhouettes with fitted bodices paired with voluminous gharara pants as well as draped dhoti
ensembles, enhanced with Persian motifs beautifully ornamented with pearls
throughout the collection.
The
intricate embroideries highlight the palette in muted shades of cream, beige, black
and gold with the occasional use of Persian red.

SAHAR ATIF:
Collection Name: The Sultanate
Sahar Atif unveils The Sultanate - a collection that brings
exquisite embroidery with the drama of couture. The centuries’ old legacy of
Islamic art, architecture and crafts is translated into the finest examples of
elegant ensembles. The Sultanate is an
amalgamation of purity of white-on-white juxtaposed against the modernity of
Saai’s signature silhouettes. Saai’s creative techniques reinterpret
intricately crafted textures through various forms of embroidery, giving each
ensemble the essence of being a masterpiece. The use of motifs, floral, paisley
and geometrics of the Islamic jaalis are
dominant in this collection. Even

KLAH is all about needle artistry, influenced by the majestically sublime
Islamic Art (the art of various rich cultures). The designs partly draw
inspiration from the mesmerizing creativity of Alhambra Palace in Spain,
considered one of the most classical artworks in Islamic history, which is
being highlighted through elements of Persian Shahi Tabriz.
Asifa&Nabeel designed KLAH keeping in mind the magnificent
signature approach of the label, with the trendiest of contemporary yet traditional
styles to give an exquisite bridal look this season.

Nawaz’s TBCW collection, Paradise Express
