[Karachi, October 13, 2018]: Reckitt Benckiser (RB) Pakistan, makers
of Dettol and Harpic, has announced its collaboration with Prime Minister Imran
Khan’s “Clean Green Pakistan”
movement. The announcement was made to ensure a cleaner and healthier Pakistan
was made at a beach cleanup held at the Seaview Beach Karachi.
This beach cleanup was part of
the several cleanliness drives initiated across the country on October 13,
2018. The event was attended by Mr. Imran Ismail, Governor Sindh, along with
other dignitaries from the Governor House, Fahad Ashraf, Chief Executive, RB
Pakistan and volunteers from the RB team.
Imran Ismail said, “Pakistan generates 48 million tons of solid
waste a year, approximately 77,000 tons per day, mostly from major metropolitan
cities. A Clean Green Pakistan is impossible without us Pakistanis taking
ownership of our streets, neighborhoods and cities to ensure cleanliness. I
fully support this movement and I encourage others to join the cause by simply
ensuring proper disposal of their waste.”
Talking about this
collaboration, Fahad Ashraf, Chief
Executive, RB Pakistan, said, “We are fully committed to support Prime Minister
Imran Khan’s vision of a cleaner, greener Pakistan. RB on its own has been
leading several initiatives to improve health, hygiene and cleanliness
conditions within the country. This collaboration now with the Ministry of
Climate Change, Government of Pakistan and WaterAid will set a unique example
of a public-private partnership to further our aim of a Clean Green Pakistan, a
healthier Pakistan.”
RB Pakistan will be organizing
several initiatives across the country following the launch of this movement.
The Company has been working on mobilizing communities and inculcating behavior
change towards cleanliness under its vision of “Hoga Saaf Pakistan” since
August 2017. The Company educates millions of children and mothers in both
